Bets, payouts & true odds (European)
| Bet | Pays | Chance to win |
|---|---|---|
| Straight (single number) | 35:1 | 2.7% |
| Split (two numbers) | 17:1 | 5.4% |
| Dozen / Column | 2:1 | 32.4% |
| Red / Black | 1:1 | 48.6% |
| Odd / Even | 1:1 | 48.6% |
| 1–18 / 19–36 | 1:1 | 48.6% |
All bets carry the same 2.70% house edge on a single-zero wheel. No betting system changes that.
How live roulette works
Live roulette is the simplest live table to pick up. A croupier spins a real wheel in a studio while a ball settles into one of 37 pockets (0–36 on a European wheel). You bet on where it will land — a single number, a colour, odd or even, a dozen, and so on — using a digital layout, and sensors read the result the moment the ball stops. Because everything is physical and filmed, there is nothing hidden: you watch the same wheel everyone else at the table sees.
Pick the right wheel
The single most important choice in roulette is the wheel. European roulette has one zero and a house edge of 2.70%. American roulette adds a second zero and almost doubles the edge to 5.26% — avoid it if a European table is available. French roulette goes one better: its La Partage rule returns half your even-money bet when the ball hits zero, cutting the edge on those bets to about 1.35%. Our demo uses a European wheel so the odds you practise with are the ones you’ll actually face.
About “systems”
You’ll see endless roulette systems — Martingale, Fibonacci, D’Alembert. It’s worth being blunt: none of them beats the house, because every spin is independent and the payouts are set below the true odds. Systems can shape how a session feels, and can produce short winning runs, but over time the 2.70% edge is unavoidable. We’d rather you enjoy roulette as entertainment, with a set budget, than chase a system that can’t deliver.
